First of all - let's make one thing perfectly clear. We don't deal in junk mail or share email addresses with those annoying e-marketers who clutter up our inboxes on a daily basis. If they would get a "real life," maybe that would save us extra time to do something productive - like comedy, for instance...
That's what this mailing list is all about - comedy. To be more specific, it's about the business of comedy. If you've checked out the different sections of this website, you'll know that comedy and the sharing of humor is my "real life." The goals for my books, How To Be A Working Comic and Comedy FAQs And Answers, comedy workshops and business seminars are to give anyone interested in comedy an insight into the industry and whatever help I can offer toward a successful career.
This email list is meant to share information. The topics include performance opportunities, (both open-mics and paying gigs), new comedy clubs, established comedy clubs, auditions, contests, festivals and updates about my workshops. Some of this news comes through my contacts in the comedy industry, while the rest is shared by people already on the list. If you ever have any information about the comedy world that might benefit "working comics," email it to me and we'll get the word out to the several hundred people already connected.
One thing we can't do is promote individual shows. You may be headlining somewhere and want the world to know, but if I did the same for everyone on the list - I would never have time for a "real life." I hope you understand.
By the way, it's true when I mention "world famous" in the description of this special email feature. Many people on the list are past members of my workshops and seminars, so there's never a lack of information about the comedy scene in those areas. But since the release of How To Be A Working Comic and Comedy FAQs And Answers, I've received messages from people around the world who are interested in the comedy industry. This includes not only stand-up comedians and variety performers, but also agents, managers, club bookers, writers and many others who are looking to further their comedy careers. In addition to the entertainment centers of New York City, Los Angeles, Miami and Chicago, other locations for people on this list include areas throughout the United States, Canada, England, The Netherlands, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Bangladesh, Russia and a few places I'd need a map to find.
So if you'd like to be a part of this information web, all you need to do is send an email requesting to be on the list. Just remember that messages never arrive on any type of regular basis. It's only when we learn of something we'd like to share with you. If you ever decide you don't want to receive our emails just let me know and I'll remove you from the list. Thanks and as always...
